In freelancing, there are things a freelancer should do and shouldn’t. I’m going to discuss them with you. Read the whole blog so you can have some help.

Do’s

  1. DO know your value. Understand how much your services are worth compared to those of similar skill levels in your industry and charge accordingly.
  2. DO set a minimum fee for your services. Sometimes, clients want tiny jobs done that aren’t worth it for you but substantial enough for the client! Figure out the minimum amount you will charge despite the size of the job.
  3. DO keep track of your finances. Know how much you are earning and spending. Set a date with yourself once a month to track your finances.
  4. Do build your reputation. Your reputation is everything on the online platform. If somebody gives negative feedback about your work, It will affect your work in the future and make it hard to get clients.
  5. Do Improve your skills based on your domains. If you keep improving your work, you’ll master it. Clients prefer more experienced freelancers to do their work.

Don’ts

  1. DON’T work for just experience or exposure: One of the biggest insults a client can make, especially for creative freelancers, is to ask them to work for direction instead of money. Here’s a hint: if the client has a big enough following to give you good exposure, they would also have the budget to pay you.
  2. Don’t be afraid to fire a client. It is okay to part ways with a client. If they are a constant source of stress or anxiety for you, they probably aren’t worth the money.
  3. DON’T forget to have fun. While you’re at it, remember to plan some time for leisure. You’re earning all that money for a reason, after all. Treat yourself to a night out occasionally, or do whatever you do to unwind, relax, recharge, and have fun.
  4. Don’t forget to treat your clients right! Clients are your everything; treating them correctly means you’re already winning with sales.
  5. Don’t forget that your work is your value. Provide high-quality best work to your clients to have more return customers for your service.

Conclusion

Freelancing is the new type of remote job in today’s era, and if you want to draw a significant amount of money from that, you need to remember these things as well. Following them strictly can help you to grow your freelancing career.
